Change your mind, change your life!

Look, I was SUPER skeptical about coaching before I started. I knew about this opportunity months… well actually, years before I started and always thought it was a scam. I thought it was too good to be true and I figured there were only maybe a handful of people that were actually successful with it.

I toyed around with the idea back in college but assumed it was only for people that were totally in-shape… I am talking people that worked out hours each day to only eat lettuce and drink water. I am definitely not that type of person and there is NO WAY I am giving up ALL my favorite foods to maybe be successful at something I have no experience with.

I quickly put that coaching idea out of my mind because I just didn’t trust it. Plus, I didn’t really know anyone who was doing it… just people here and there that I would hear about through Facebook.

Then years passed and I got married, had kids, gained weight, lost weight, got new jobs, bought a house, etc… I reached a point where I had all these things in my life going incredibly right but I was still feeling like something was missing. I just knew that I wanted more out of life, but didn’t really know what that was.

When I reached out to my coach to ask about coaching I had it in my mind that she was going to blow a bunch of smoke up my a$$ to get me to sign up and figured I would hear her out, and then google the sh*t out of this opportunity. And that is exactly what I did. I was looking for red flags and reasons to NOT be a coach. I searched and searched for 3 days straight and found nothing that made me second-guess what my coach told me. NOTHING. Nada. I mean, you know how big the internet is, right? And still….nothing.

So, after thinking about it for a few days I decided to buy a challenge pack and sign up as a coach. It was a big deal because as a newer mother, I wasn’t really spending much on myself other than the necessities. We had purchased a treadmill not too long before that and to justify something else to help me lose those last 15 baby pounds was hard to do. But, I just closed my eyes and did it. Best.decision.ever.

I really want to save people from the anxiety and uncertainty of researching Beachbody coaching that I went through. My coaching “open house” is totally unbiased. I believe this opportunity can SAVE people like it saved me and like I have been able to help save others I have come in contact with. :)

Listen, you don’t have to be at your goal weight, be a sales person, or be a marketing guru. You actually don’t need any experience at all and you even could be starting day one of your health and fitness journey when you sign up to coach. The only prerequisite to join my team is to: BE YOU.

Are you saying to yourself, “Okay, this seems like an amazing opportunity but I am still unsure about this…” Well that’s okay - I have you covered!! :) Tomorrow my team and I will be kicking off our 3-day coaching “open house” that will help fill in the blanks and give you the info you need to decide if this opportunity is the right one for you. To join us please send me an email at devonladu@gmail.com and I will get you added!

I have some crazy, amazing, HUGE goals for 2016!! If you are ready to take things up a notch and start creating a life by your OWN design, then don’t miss out on this sneak peek!

New Year, New YOU!

It’s that time of year when EVERYONE seems to be thinking about their new year’s resolution… what will it be this year?

~ Lose weight?
~ Get healthy?
~ Quit smoking?
~ Save money?
~ Spend more time with family?

Did you know that last year (and probably a gazillion years before that too) the number one new year’s resolution was to lose weight? Did you know that a majority of the people who make losing weight as their new year’s resolution give up after 2 weeks?? Umm, THAT’S CRAZY!!! 2 weeks?? DON’T BE A PART OF THAT STATISTIC!!! My guess is that those people didn’t have a great support system, a solution that fit into their busy lifestyle, and constant motivation and inspiration. It’s only a guess, but I am almost a 110% sure that I am correct. It’s science. :)

So, with that said…..is your new year’s resolution to lose weight? If you said yes, have you made this same resolution in year’s past? If you said yes again, why are you making that your resolution AGAIN? I am thinking it’s because you had no one there to make you stick to it! >>>>INSERT ME!!!!

Look, I want to help you. I want to help you the way that I have been helped. I get it... you think that you can do this on your own. I thought that too!!! But you know what, even though you can, it’s SO MUCH EASIER when you have the right support and constant accountability. It makes it so much easier when you are surrounded by people with the same goals, when you have a solution that fits into your busy lifestyle and allows you to get results by doing the work in your own home (saves you from those busy gyms). So, here’s the deal… my next challenge group is going to be EPIC! I am talking about reaching goals, getting results, working hard, and making SHIT happen! Seriously, I am looking for people that are committed and ready to make a change!

If you are ready to make a change and get into the best shape of your life, then I want YOU in my next group! We will officially kick off January 4th (right after the new year) but you need to commit by December 27th. So, what you need to do is comment below with your email or send me an email at devonladu@gmail.com ASAP to claim your spot and then I will get you the rest of the details to join. I am not messing around so, first come, first serve! LET’S DO THIS!!!

Do What Makes Your Soul Shine

20 months ago I was desperate for a solution…

I was desperate to get my body back.

I was desperate to find passion in a career.

I was desperate to do something that made me want to jump out of bed every morning instead of dreading it.

To be honest, I was just desperate.

I had something inside of me that wanted more, that thought I was meant for more, but I had no idea what that “more” was. I was stuck and I wasn’t sure how to get un-stuck.

Then one day I just had enough and I decided to finally do something about it. And it started with my health. It started with me FINALLY reaching out to someone who I just had this feeling about… I reached out to her because I knew she could help me.

Instead of spending money on pills, personal trainers, gym memberships, or any other sort of “quick fix” I decided to invest in a solution I knew I could make work. You really can’t make an excuse to skip a home workout program that you can literally do in your living room. ESPECIALLY when you have a group of people holding you accountable and cheering you on. And I don’t think anyone can argue that eating healthy and working out doesn’t work… so I just made the decision to do it.

Within a week of this “switch" in my mindset I realized that I was capable of much more than I thought. I realized that eating healthy is actually easy and it was making me feel AMAZING. Then I realized that I wanted to help others realize how much they were capable of, and I wanted to help them realize that eating healthy could be easy and make them feel amazing too!

So, I started sharing what was working for me. And from that I was able to inspire others to get healthier and want to help others do the same. It was just this big ripple effect that I had no idea I was capable of JUST from wanting to get healthy and make it work as a busy mom. So, I kept going. I kept posting, putting myself out there, and sometimes making a complete fool of myself because I knew that even though I had people that didn’t really support me, there were so many others that DID support me. And that pushed me even more.

Now, here I sit on a Wednesday night, reflecting on these last 20 months and I am so incredibly grateful. It’s just one of those nights where the impact that this little decision to get healthy is just overwhelming. It’s overwhelming because it’s provided my family with extra income while I was working full-time to pay off debt, buy things for our house, pay for our Christmas presents last year with cash without thinking twice about it… and most importantly, it’s provided me with TIME I will never get back to spend with my baby girl. Time I would never have the opportunity to use to spend with my family because I would be stuck in a cubicle all day. It’s provided me with FREEDOM to work when I want to work, play when I want to play, and not have to answer to anyone but myself.

And this is just me. There have been coaches who have had WAY more success in 20 months than I have. Coaches who were able to not only quit their full-time jobs, but also bring their spouses home too. Coaches who have been able to pay off their entire mortgage or student loans just from helping other people get healthy.

So, while I am over here reflecting and thinking about what these next 20 months could bring me, I have a couple questions for you. What can you do in 20 months? What do you want your life to look like 20 months from now?

If you want something different then you have have to DO something different. Take a chance. Check it out. See if it’s for you. Because if it is, then it could be the answer you are looking for and an opportunity that will change your life.

If you can relate to any of my story or want an opportunity to dream a little bigger, then I want you to join my team, Inspire Greatness. I am looking to mentor an additional 10 people this month because I know how much this opportunity helped me over the holidays last year, and I want that for you this year! ❤️

If you want to be considered for my team you can apply at here.

My Plan to Stay on Track Over the Holidays

Just another day in paradise! Where the shakes flow like wine, toys multiply by the day, and where getting a full night's sleep is a rarity!! ;)

Enjoying my breakfast of chocolatey goodness while working on my mind to get pumped for my workout. Took my before pics and measurements and I'm excited to see the changes I can make in a short 3 weeks!
I started day 1 of the 21-Day Fix yesterday and am happy to report that I made it through the whole day with no cheats, got my workout in, drank over a 100 oz of water, and had my Shakeology!

Here are my day 1/before pictures! While I'm not at my goal, and definitely have some work to do before I get there, I'm reminding myself to enjoy the journey. I'm reminding myself that I just had a baby 6 1/2 months ago and to go easy on myself. It's so easy to get caught up in how fast others bounced back and their results but the only results that matter are mine. And each day I make myself a priority is a day closer to those results.  <3

The last time I attempted the 21-Day Fix I did great with the workouts but did not do so well with the nutrition. I was definitely too lenient and didn't really portion....well, anything. #badcoach I still lost 9 pounds but I know that my results would have been SO much better had I planned my meals accordingly and stuck to that plan! So this round I vow to plan out my meals each week and I vow to keep my paws off the wine. Although red wine is allowed in the 21-Day Fix meal plan, I am going to just stay away altogether. Home-girl loves her wine and one glass usually turns into a couple more... So, Sunday I got my crap together, drank my last glass 3 glasses of wine or the next 3 weeks, and planned out this week's meals:

I like to keep things simple overall, and don't mind eating the same meals each day, so that's what I am going to do. Less prep work and less time to worry about what to eat makes me a happy camper! Next week I will switch up my meals, maybe try a new recipe or 2, but figured I would keep it easy this week.

Sunday night before starting the 21-Day Fix I was definitely feeling the post-sugar blues....󾍀

Tired. 󾰴

Lethargic. 󾌡
Bloated. 󾰟

Even baby girl was feeling blah
Were you the same way? Maybe even nauseous from over-doing it this weekend? 󾌢 Are you scared of having no control over the upcoming holidays? 󾌻

Ringing in the New Year 10 lbs heavier?󾭟✨

Not feeling confident at your holiday parties? Sick and tired of the yo-yo dieting and want to learn how to create a healthy lifestyle, but don’t know how? 󾁑󾁛󾁒

Lack of motivation to get started?

With the enthusiasm and motivation I have seen from the challengers in my group that started yesterday, I can see how there are so many people that NEED the extra accountability now more than ever.

With the demand I had with my current group, I am opening up 15 spots in my next weight loss accountability group that starts on the 16th! I will teach you how to meal plan, meal prep, provide healthy holiday recipes, tips while traveling, daily support and 1:1 accountability!

Plus, how about ringing in the new year 10-20 lbs lighter than you are now? Ever thought that was a possibility?!?!? Comment below with your email or send me an email at devonladu@gmail.com for more information!

HALLOWEEN SURVIVAL TIPS

Ever since I got pregnant with Kamden my sweet tooth has been on over-drive… I just #cantstopwontstop when there is candy in the house!! It’s as if it whispers my name during my weakest moments, knowing I will give in and pound down 5 mini Snickers bars.. because really, that’s like eating 1 whole Snickers bar, right???

Well anyway, this year I REALLY am going to try hard to resist the sugar coma and only give myself a piece or 2 before calling it good. So, in lieu of me trying to back away from the candy bowl, here are some HALLOWEEN SURVIVAL TIPS to get you through the day… if anything, save your candy so you can have a glass of wine or 2 after a full night of trick-or-treating and all the crazy kids hyped up on sugar! ;)

<<<<<<<<<< HALLOWEEN SURVIVAL TIPS >>>>>>>>>>

1. Make sure to fuel your body throughout the day. Start the day with a delicious and nutritious breakfast and plan your snacks and the rest of your meals for the day. Take snacks with you along with a water bottle to keep you on track! Just because you are anticipating eating a few pieces of candy does not make it a good idea to skimp on your meals. At each meal, focus on choosing good sources of lean protein, healthy fats, and whole grains! Also, try to fit in a good workout or walk around with the trick or treaters!

2. Don’t deprive yourself. In a perfect world we could go through Halloween day, I mean Halloween week, without overindulging in the endless supply of candy – in your office, your home or even at the doctors office. But this is just NOT realistic. We’re human and most of us enjoy the occasional or not so occasional treat. Allow yourself to have it! Enjoy it and move on! Just don’t eat ALL the candy!

3. Have something to look forward to. Do you have a favorite candy? For me, anything with chocolate and caramel seals the deal. So, instead of messing around with all the other “not-as-good” candy, save it for the end of the night when you can sit down with a glass of red wine and savor your mini Snickers bar. :)

4. Make a deal with your kids, your spouse, your dog… or just yourself :) that after trick-or-treating you will go through and pick out your favorite candy, and then donate the rest. Your kids and your waistline will not miss it! And you might make someone else’s day! It’s a win-win!

5. Tell yourself that every piece of candy you eat past your allotted 2 pieces you have to do 10 burpees for. So for example, if you allow yourself 2 pieces and you eat 5… well then get ready to sweat it out while you do 30 burpees! You could also turn this challenge into a fun little bet with your family.

Lastly, go easy on yourself. If you over-indulge on Halloween just make sure to drink LOTS of water, get moving, and MOVE ON the next day. Don’t dwell on it, don’t make a habit of it… and don’t knock yourself down because of it! And most of all, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Have fun, be safe, and TAG me in any other survival tips you have! #BOO

Inspire Greatness is EXPANDING!!!

<3 Are you a mom who wants to stay home with your babies?
<3 Are you a mom who already stays home with her babies?
<3 Or, maybe your inner #girlboss is screaming to get out and wants to start a successful business from home?

If you answered YES to any of those questions, this post is for YOU! <3

You see, a little over a year and half ago I was a wife and mother struggling to lose the last of the baby weight I had gained while pregnant with my son. I was trying to balance being a mom and wife while working full-time, and I really had a hard time finding the time to focus on myself. I felt defeated. I felt out of control. I just didn't feel like ME anymore. Everything that had worked in my past to lose weight was not working anymore, and I was on the verge of giving up and just accepting the fact that I would never get back to my pre-baby weight.

One day as I was scrolling my Facebook newsfeed (at work of course) I came across a post from a coach who was a stay home mom to FOUR kids, had a rockin’ body, and just seemed to have it all together. She was constantly talking about challenge groups, trips she was going on, amazing gifts she was given JUST for helping people get healthy… and needless to say, I was intrigued. I honestly thought everything she was posting was way too good to be true, and couldn’t wait to message her and find out that it was all a scam. ;) Well, after messaging with her, having a phone call with her, and then googling this sh*t out of “is Beachbody coaching a scam?” I decided to just sign up as a coach. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but from what I heard and researched, I had nothing to lose (other than some unwanted pounds).

The main reason I signed up as a coach in the beginning was to be held more accountable to my workout program and to get a discount on products and Shakeology. I figured if I didn’t like coaching, or wasn’t seeing results, I would just quit. No biggie.

Well, after that first week as a coach, and a challenger in one of her accountability groups, I was down 6 lbs, had my “AH-HA” moment, and FINALLY figured out my passion. I remember telling my mom and my husband that I had found my “calling.” :) Seeing those results after so many months of being in a plateau and just feeling like crap was amazing. I felt SO good, SO healthy and SO confident again! It was after that first week when I realized that I could help other mothers feel the same way I did and help them figure out how to fit in workouts with their busy schedules. I wanted to prove to them that they too could feel this great again! I wanted to help women make their health a priority so that they could have more energy for their children and be around much longer for their families.

So, needless to say, signing up as a coach changed my life. Not only has it helped me get healthy, have a healthy second pregnancy, lose the baby weight I gained with #2 faster than ever; but it has helped create an income for my family I never thought would be possible.

Quickly after becoming a coach I made it my goal to quit my full-time corporate job so that I could stay home with my babies and work from home as a coach. I am just not cut out for the 9-5, Monday through Friday, sitting in a cubicle all-day, type of job. I have alway just known I was meant for something different. I just never knew what that was until I became a coach. Coaching IS that something different for me.

Last July as my maternity leave was winding down, I was able to do something I had only dreamed about up until that point. With a week and half left of my maternity leave, I contacted my employer and let them know I would not be returning to work. I was able to do this because the income I was earning from coaching replaced the full-time income I was making in my corporate job. All from being an online health coach, supporting others in their health and fitness journey, and building a team of coaches doing the same thing.

All I can say is WOW. It’s still hard to believe and I have been home for almost 6 months. :)

I am finally able to live a life of FREEDOM. A life by my own design and not someone else’s. I get to work when I want to work, take vacation at the drop of a hat, spend as much time cuddling my babies as I want, and have time to focus on my own health without feeling like I am cutting out time away from my family. I can do what I want, when I want, and only have to answer to myself. Never did I think at the age of 31 that this would be possible. It’s just crazy that this is my life. <3

All About Me....

When I first started focusing on my health and fitness it was all about me. It was about feeling good in my skin, losing the last 15 pounds, feeling confident, wearing clothes that I hadn't been able to for years...being HAPPY. Don't get me wrong, all those things are EXTREMELY important and make a huge impact on the kind of mom and wife I am, but now my motivation has shifted a bit.
.
Once I reached my initial goal I realized it wasn't just about me anymore. I had little eyes watching me and noticing what I was doing. 󾆐 I had little eyes watching me meal prep, take time to read labels on food at the grocery store, push play and sweat in our basement, shake up my Shakeology after a workout... I had these eyes looking at me for their example. An example I have complete control over. Yes, there are many days I don't nail my nutrition, and there are days I miss a workout, but those days are minimal compared to the days I really push myself and kick the excuses to the side because I know how it feels to give up and I know how it feels to keep going. And I choose to keep going.
.
I have 2 little ones now that watch my every move and I will be damned if I don't show them how important staying active is and eating healthy is. I will be damned if I don't make my health a priority so that the health of my family is better. There are so many things in this world and in this life I have no control over, but eating heathy and working out are not one of them.
.
It may have taken me a while to get to this point and in this mindset but I can tell you one thing for sure. I wouldn't be here right now had I not taken that first step to start. To try. To do better. So, if you are ready to start, to do better... then let me help you!! I have >>> O N E <<< spot left in my weight loss accountability group that starts tomorrow!! ❤️
.
The first person to message me and commit to this last spot will get their fitness program FREE! 󾌵
.
Send me an email at devonladu to claim this last spot!
.
This is your time to prove to yourself that you can DO this!

HEALTHY Stuffed Green Peppers

First off, give me Mexican food and I am a happy camper....however, my waistline...not.so.much. When I started eating clean and really watching my nutrition I made it my mission to "clean up" my favorite meals and make them healthier. I didn't want to feel deprived and like I was missing out. I am an only child (well, I have a half-brother but he lives far away and he's 13 so I grew up an only child....) and the whole "missing out" feeling... I am just not a fan. :) So, before I ramble on too much about life and such, here is my recipe for stuffed green bell peppers! You will need:
  • Ground turkey with low sodium taco seasoning
  • Spanish rice with diced tomatoes
  • Black beans
  • Low fat shredded cheese
  • Greek yogurt (plain)
  • Salsa
  • And if you want to be my best friend, Cholula sauce

Cut the top off a green pepper, scoop out the inside, and fill with all the above, except the Greek yogurt, salsa and Cholula...you will add that at the end. I've layered it and I've mixed it all together. Tastes the same either way! Top with some low fat cheese and bake @ 350 for 30-35 minutes.

These are great right out of  the oven or warmed up as leftovers! I usually make about 4 bell peppers and then freeze the rest of the meat/rice/bean mixture for later use. :) Enjoy!

My Body, My Business!!

I know I have posted about this recently, but being a coach has been a HUGE factor in me finding a workout routine I have been able to stick to for the last 20 months, and also has given me the motivation to figure out how to eat clean and incorporate it in to my everyday life as a busy mama. That is honestly what got me into coaching in the first place. I wanted to lose weight but be held more accountable to do it because pre-Beachbody I was easily swayed into eating junk, sitting on the couch instead of working out, and overall just not sticking to anything for a long period of time. I always had good intentions but could never just stick to it! I was always making excuses, telling myself I would start tomorrow… but then tomorrow turned into next week, next month, etc. I was stuck in a rut and I didn’t know how to get out of it….
It was frustrating and all I wanted was SOMETHING or SOMEONE to keep me going. Insert ———> Beachbody coaching.
When I signed up I told myself that if I wanted to be a good coach I better get my butt in gear and workout when I said I was going to, and eat clean like I was telling the challengers in my groups to do. I started seeing results and naturally started talking about it on Facebook because I was excited and I felt awesome - who doesn’t share stuff like that!!?? Then I started getting messages and comments asking me what I was doing and how they could do the same thing. Those first messages showed me that if I continued sharing what I was doing I could possibly help motivate someone else to do the same thing, and in turn they could motivate someone else, and so on. HOLY CRAP!!! I never knew the impact little old me would have but from that first day as a coach I have built a team of AMAZING women that have made the decision to make their health a priority and help others do the same thing. All because I decided to invest in my own health.
This business has helped me and so many others pay it forward not only in health, but financially too. In my first couple months as a coach, just from sharing my workouts and what I was eating, I was able to pay off a month’s worth of student loans. If you know me, you know my student loan debt is HUGE… I went to school out of state for a couple years, took out the max loans my entire 5 years of school…. and let’s just say my monthly student loan payment could be a mortgage payment. So, to say coaching has been a blessing is a GIGANTIC understatement.
Fast-forward to now and I have been on trips to Nashville, Florida, and am qualified for a trip to the Bahamas next month (sadly I won’t be able to make that one) and have been able to leave my full-time corporate job to stay home with my kiddos. All because I wanted to be held more accountable to lose a little weight. CRAZY, right!!?? Well, it’s the truth and I wish that more people would join me in this because it has been an amazing ride so far and I can only imagine where I will be this time next year and where my team will be this time next year. heart emoticon
Because I am looking to grow my team and keep paying this opportunity forward, I want to invite YOU to a little “sneak peek” into what coaching is all about, what we do, and how you can get started too. If you want to lose weight, make a little extra spending money for the holidays or work for something BIGGER, then I want to hear from you and have you join us next week! It will start on Tuesday, October 20th and go through Thursday, October 22nd. It will be held through a private group on Facebook where we will give you all the info you need to see if this opportunity is right for you. There is no obligation by joining us - just check it out!
If you would like to join team Inspire Greatness next week and see if this coaching gig is really all it’s cracked up to be, then email me at devonladu@gmail.com, comment below with your email address or fill out an application here
I can’t wait to get this party started next week!!!! tongue emoticon

3-Day Refresh: FINAL RESULTS ARE IN!

Well, let me start off my saying that I am SO HAPPY to be reunited with this tub of heaven.....
"Reunited and it feels so goooooood!"
Yesterday was day 3, my final day, of the 3-Day Refresh and it was by far the easiest day of them all. I think my body finally was used to the amount of food I was eating and had finally adjusted to the increased fiber intake. I had so much energy yesterday, didn't have any crazy cravings and when it came time to eat my cucumber salad for dinner, I couldn't even finish it because I was FULL! That's crazy to me, because normally by dinnertime I could eat everything in sight! I am usually munching off my son's plate, or grazing the cupboard while making dinner... but yesterday was so different! I am not sure if it was because I knew in my mind I couldn't snack or what, but I didn't even want anything to eat while making dinner for my son.

I went to bed last night feeling accomplished and actually pretty proud that I stuck to this program... I mean, followed it to a "T." And it totally paid off because when I woke up this morning I was 6.5 pounds lighter than when I started. I can see in how my pants fit how much my stomach has gone down, which is a godsend since having baby #2. My stomach has always been the easiest part of my body to tone but since having kids it's basically the complete opposite. So, I WILL TAKE IT!!  And I must have been really good lately for the scale to cooperate because it's usually a liar.... which is why I ALWAYS take before and after pictures, or progress pictures in my case since this is not the end for me!! This has been an AMAZING boost for me, or jump-start if you will, and has rejuvenated my motivation to tone up this mom-bod for good! :) So, without further delay, here are my before and after pictures....
That's only a 3 day difference! That's insane to me!!! I am so happy with these results that I plan to do it once a month or once every couple months to keep my diet in check.

Yesterday was supposed to be the last day this program was on special but I checked today and it's still available for the sale price! If you want to give this a shot or have any questions please email me at devonladu@gmail.com or message me on Facebook at facebook.com/devon.hardel.

Day 2 Review of the 3-Day Refresh

When I woke up this morning I really did not think I would have much of a loss from yesterday since I am pretty sure I lost the majority of my water weight on day 1 (down 3 lbs) but much to my surprise, I have lost another 2 pounds since yesterday, bringing me to a total of 5 lbs down in 2 days! :)

Aside from the weight-loss, I just feel GOOD! I have more energy, a clearer focus, and today I can officially say I am not craving the junk like I was the first day or so.

Last night I tried one of the dinner options from the Refresh and it was a kale salad with pine nuts, lemon juice and a little Himalayan salt for taste. Overall, it was pretty good! At first I really didn't think I would like it, but after eating it I was full, satisfied, and ready to take on day 3! This cleanse has really made me focus back on water and how much I am drinking each day, which totally helps with staying full. I used to be so good about getting in about 100 oz each day, but after I had my daughter last April, and have been working from home, I am lucky if I get in 50 oz. And that is just not like me! So, another benefit for me with this Refresh, is that I am back in the water game!! #juglife

Eating this clean, getting in my water and drinking Shakeology has really helped get me back to feeling like "me." These last few months have been crazy busy, resulting in not-so-healthy choices, and I was just yearning for something to get me back on track. Thank God I tried this Refresh because I feel amazing! I am even back to drinking tea at night, which totally puts me into sleep mode, and I have been sleeping great because of it!
Cool fall night, warm tea at hand, a walk with my loves to the park - the perfect Tuesday night! <3
Today is the LAST day to get the 3-Day Refresh at the promotional price!! I would love to talk to you more about it if you are interested or have questions! Feel free to comment on this post, message me on Facebook at facebook.com/devon.hardel (you may have to add me as a friend first) or email me at devonladu@gmail.com.

Day One Review of the 3-Day Refresh

Yesterday I started day 1 of the 3-Day Refresh and I am not going to lie, when I woke up I ALMOST decided to delay my start to Tuesday (today) because I really wanted coffee....and creamer....and peanut butter, haha. smile emoticon Baby girl was not having it the night before and was up quite a bit....then woke up SUPER early that morning....making for one tired and slightly crabby mama. frown emoticon
After sitting in my pity party for a few minutes, I snapped out of it and decided that I would just suck it up and start it. I just couldn't start off the week on a bad foot! So, I got up, chugged my water, made my shake to take with me while I dropped the kids off at daycare, and came home to eat a bowl full of strawberries. Starting the morning off by eating fruit and Shakeology, whether I am doing the Refresh or not, is something I love to do because I just feel fresh and awake and ready to take on the day!
The rest of the day went pretty smoothly. The Refresh comes with a fiber drink and vanilla fresh shake that you drink throughout the day. I also get to drink Shakeology (love!!) and eat fruits, veggies, nuts, hummus, and almond butter. I also focus on drinking water (half my body weight in ounces). That's it! It's recommended to not work out or if you do, to focus on light/moderate workouts, but I have decided to just take a break and focus on the cleanse. I am counting cleaning as a work out for these 3 days. :)

My only complaint is that my husband made cheesy chip dip and was drinking a beer while watching the Packers last night.... and I ate a cucumber salad.....*side-eye

I stuck to my plan, even with the smell of cheese dip floating through the air, and feel really good today. I got a great night's sleep and woke up feeling lighter. I decided to just hop on the scale this morning and I am already down 3 pounds! Now, I am sure it's mostly water weight - but I'll take it! I am not expecting that big of a loss tomorrow morning but things are moving in the right direction and I feel really good!

Limits / Opportunity

In this last week I have noticed SO many women on Facebook that have announced their pregnancies with a due date in April. I think I have seen at least 5 now! Just brings me back to this time last year because I announced the same exact thing.
smile emoticJust brings me back to this time last year because I announced the same exact thing. heart emoticon
I remember when I found out I was pregnant with Jordyn and how excited I was, but at the same time, how much my fire was lit. I had been coaching about 5 months at the time and had seen some AMAZING, real-life, journeys lead to people being able to leave their full-time jobs and “retire” themselves to stay home with their spouses, children, etc. I wanted that SO bad for myself and for my family. I would see these coaches, newly being able to stay home full-time, posting pictures of impromptu park trips with their kids, in the middle of the day….on a Tuesday. I just wanted that freedom! I wanted to dictate my day and stop answering to someone else!
I would sit in my cubicle all day long dreaming about being able to stay home with my kids. I would write out to-do lists, business ideas, dreams and goals I wanted to reach…. all day, every day. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I HAD to make it happen. I NEEDED to make it happen. I couldn’t stand thinking about sending a brand new baby to daycare again.
I honestly pushed so hard to make this dream of mine a reality and it took literally up until I had a week and a half left of maternity leave for me to be able to let my boss know that I wasn’t coming back. It was CRAZY. It was INSANE. But, it was my reality!! I remember that first week when I was supposed to be back to work and how I just felt odd, haha. I had no idea what to do with myself! I am not old by any means, and there are a gazillion people out there that have worked harder and longer than me in their lives, but I have been working since I was 14 years old and at the age of 30 I was able to leave my corporate job to run my own home-based business. And this business all started because I wanted to lose a little baby weight I had gained with KB. It still blows my mind.
Now, that I have this freedom, I get to wake up tomorrow morning before my kids get up and workout, get the priorities on my to-do list done, and spend the rest of my day with my kids. And if I end up sleeping in, because EVERYBODY knows I am NOT a morning person, I can work on my to-do list during nap time or after they go to sleep at night. This flexibility is still something I am not completely used to, but I LOVE it. And now that I have it, I can’t imagine living life any other way.
I am now more than ever so determined and motivated to help others have this same freedom to do whatever they want! If it means traveling more, staying home with kids, volunteering - whatever! I just know that this freedom has led me to realize the potential I have and I want others to see their potential too. Because in this life there is so much potential that goes to waste just because someone didn’t believe in themselves to take a chance and that is not how I want your life to go down!
Starting next month my team, Inspire Greatness, is offering a coach training program designed to get new coaches started off on the right foot and reaching the first milestone in their business in their first month. With that said, I am looking for:
~ Busy moms
~ Stay at home moms
~ Working moms
~ Women who are driven
~ Motivated women
~ Women who are passionate about helping others
~ Women who love health & fitness
~ Moms who need a change
~ Moms who want to replace their full-time income or just make enough for extra spending money
~ Moms who need some “me” time
This list could go on forever but if YOU are ANY of these things and THINK that maybe this opportunity would be right for you DON’T hesitate to reach out so we can chat and go over all of the options and chat about opportunities that this could bring to your life!

Pumpkin Pie Shake Recipe

ERRRRMERRRRRGERRRRRD!!!! So, I am pretty boring when it comes to making shakes and typically just mix mine with water… and on occasion mix my chocolate with PB and banana. But this morning I was feeling a little spunky and wanted to try something new. Insert: Pumpkin Pie Shakeology!!! After taking my first sip I immediately wondered what I have been doing with my life. Why haven’t I tried this before!!?? It’s SOOOO yummy! Maybe it was fate….maybe it was a coincidence, but I happened to have all the ingredients on hand so it was basically written in the stars that I had to try this today. Thanks universe. Anyway, here is the recipe so you can give it a try yourself! Nothing like having “pumpkin pie” for breakfast when it’s actually a nutrient dense shake that will provide my body with EVERYTHING it needs to function at an optimal level. It’s science. Okay, I am done rambling…. just give it a try and you won’t be sorry. :)

:::::: Pumpkin Pie Shake
  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scopp/packet of vanilla shakeology
  • 1 Tbsp pure pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup ice
** I added about 5-6 oz of water because I don’t like mine as thick

Add everything to a blender and cover. Blend until smooth.

All You Need

When baby girl went down for her afternoon nap today I had plans to get my workout in…just like every other day during the week. Most days I am ready to workout by the time the afternoon rolls around and am kind of excited for it. But today was different. I just wasn’t feeling it. Not even a little. I am human. So, instead I decided to clean the basement aka my new/old workout area. :) I worked out down there up until Jordy was born and then moved my workouts upstairs to be closer to her room. (Shameless plug: that’s the nice thing about workout DVDs - they “work out” everywhere.)

We never use our basement otherwise because it needs some updating, so it gets neglected when it comes to cleaning, vacuuming, etc. down there. Which means it turns into Spider City. :( Well, today I braved the basement cleaning and vacuumed up I am guessing around a million spiders. I also vacuumed up something from the crack of our ceiling tile that may or may not have had a claw. I am not even joking. I am actually crying on the inside thinking about it.

So after getting the heebie jeebies a few hundred times our basement is fresh and clean for me to workout in again! It’s nothing fancy, and I don’t have a ton of equipment, but it works and it’s affordable. I like.

Nothing like being able to walk to your basement to get a killer workout in while your kids are napping…. or in today's case, after they go to bed at night. :) And thank you to my accountability groups for making sure I stick to my word and actually workout tonight! ;)

The Cost of Not Following Your Heart....

The cost of not following your heart is spending the rest of your life wishing you had.....
When I talk to people about working out and getting healthy or the coaching opportunity, I always hear how great it would be but "right now I am too busy" or "I just don't have time for this." I mean, I get it. We are human. We are all busy. We all have obligations - family, full-time jobs, 2 jobs, errands to run, kids to bus from point A to point B.... but the thing with that is, it will never change! You will always be busy, whether or not the same stuff keeps you busy a year from now just means you will have new stuff added to your plate. That's life. But I guess I would hate to look back on my life with regret because I was "too busy."
We only get one life so why not live it to be your best self? Whether that's getting healthy, following your passion, taking up a hobby you love - no matter what it is, just do it! Why not? Take a chance, give it a shot and see what happens! What do you have to lose?
We all have the opportunity to change our circumstances... it may take some work in the beginning but I promise you it will pay off. YOU have potential to do SO MUCH MORE with your life. All it takes is that first step to try..... <3
